The UP Alumni Engineers (UPAE) is excited to announce the call for nominations for the prestigious 2024 Alumni Engineers Awards, which celebrate the exemplary achievements and contributions of University of the Philippines (UP) alumni in the fields of engineering, government, academia, and industry. The UPAE Awards Committee, led by College of Engineering Dean and UPAE President Aurelio L. Gomez, is now seeking nominations for individuals whose exceptional work and leadership have made a significant impact in their respective fields.

The 2024 Alumni Engineers Awards will recognize excellence across several categories:

• Most Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna – Honoring alumni who have achieved national or international stature and brought prestige to the College of Engineering, the University, and the Philippines.
• Lifetime Achievement Award – Recognizing senior alumni who have demonstrated professional distinction and meritorious service throughout their careers.
• Professional Degree Awardees – Awarded to outstanding alumni from the following engineering fields:
  • a. Chemical Engineering
  • b. Civil Engineering
  • c. Computer Engineering
  • d. Computer Science
  • e. Electrical Engineering
  • f. Electronics and Computer Engineering
  • g. Geodetic Engineering
  • h. Industrial Engineering
  • i. Materials Engineering
  • j. Metallurgical Engineering
  • k. Mining Engineering
  • l. Mechanical Engineering
• National Achievement Awards – Recognizing alumni who have made outstanding accomplishments in areas such as engineering education, government service, public service, and entrepreneurship within the Philippines.
• Global Achievement Awards – Recognizing alumni who have made significant contributions internationally, in areas such as innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship, bringing global recognition to the engineering profession.
• Posthumous Award – Honoring accomplished alumni who have recently passed away but were not previously recognized by the UPAE.
• Citation of Merit – Acknowledging alumni or UP College of Engineering instructors who, within 10 years of their graduation, have excelled in technopreneurship, research, and development.

Nominations are open until Friday, September 20, 2024, and the awards will be presented during the UPAE Alumni Homecoming on November 9, 2024.

The UP Alumni Engineers Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable contributions of UP alumni in shaping the future of engineering and advancing society both in the Philippines and abroad.

“These awards are a significant tradition that allows us to honor the brilliance and dedication of UP engineers, whose achievements continue to inspire and lead the profession globally,” said Aurelio L. Gomez, Dean of the UP College of Engineering and UPAE President.
