The UP Alumni Engineers, Inc. (UPAE) proudly inaugurated and blessed its newly renovated office at the 1st Floor of the National Engineering Center, University of the Philippines Diliman, on October 7, 2025. Led by UPAE President Engr. Manfred Guangko, the ceremony marks a major milestone in the organization’s ongoing efforts to support its growing network of alumni, empower student engagement, and deepen partnerships for engineering-driven national development.

The program started with a blessing ceremony and a fellowship gathering attended by numerous UPAE donors, benefactors, and industry partners whose generous support made the renovation possible.

The upgraded office, now featuring dedicated spaces for meetings, informal lounges, a co-op area, and a fully equipped conference room, is envisioned as a hub for collaboration, innovation, and service. It is a space where generations of UP engineers can converge, develop solutions, and build lasting connections.

“This is more than just a renovation. It is our collective investment in the future of our community,” said Engr. Guangko in his message. “We hope this space becomes a home for shared ideas, meaningful conversations, and impactful projects that strengthen the bond among alumni, support the College, and help our students thrive.”

UP College of Engineering Dean Dr. Maria Antonia Tanchuling, represented by the new Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs Dr. Sandy Gaspay, highlighted UPAE’s invaluable support to the College, ranging from scholarships and professional expertise to institutional development. She gave updates on the College’s major initiatives, including its active role in post-disaster infrastructure assessments and the formation of the National Institute of Engineering, envisioned as a collaborative network to scale up graduate engineering education nationwide.

UPAE reaffirms its commitment to building a stronger, more connected alumni network that fuels engineering excellence for the country. With this new space, the organization looks forward to launching more collaborative initiatives—starting with the UPAE Sundial Award, innovation grants, and expanded alumni engagement programs.
