Engr. Erlindo Angcoy, Jr. spent his post- University career by using his Chemical Engineering skills to foster industries that significantly contribute to national development.
Ritchie, to his friends, is the Head of Strategic Technology and Innovation of Energy Development Corp. (EDC), the renewable energy arm of the Lopez Group of companies. After his graduation in UP Diliman, he focused on helping industries that significantly contribute to national development as Process and Production Engineer in the 1200 MT P2O5/day Phosphoric Acid and 1500 MT/day Granulation Plants of Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer (Philphos) then as Geochemist and Resource Manager of the 700 MW Leyte Geothermal Production Field of EDC. In 2010, he earned his MS Geology (First Class with Distinction) in University of Iceland on scholarship grant from the United Nations University-Geothermal Training Program. For his contributions, he received the 2018 Professional Degree Award in Chemical Engineering.
Ritchie believes he is primed to return the favor to the college being “Young enough to chase but old enough to know better” as the band Maroon 5 would say. Beyond work, he bonds with his family and friends in lawn tennis matches, kindles his artistic side by dabbling in choral and theater arts groups, conducts talks aiming to connect students and alumni of his high school alma mater LIDE Learning Center-De La Salle and serves the church as a devotee to St. Joseph (the husband, the father and the worker).
He is a sought-after speaker in international fora on the operations of geothermal wells and sustainable energy resources.
