UPAE Inducts New Set of Officers and Board of Trustees for 2024

The University of the Philippines (UP) College of Engineering Alumni Association (UPAE) held its Induction Ceremony for the new set of Officers and Board of Trustees on February 06, 2023, at the UP Board Room in Quezon Hall, UP Diliman.

The induction ceremony marked a significant milestone for the UPAE, as it moves forward with a renewed commitment to serve the UP College of Engineering and its alumni. The UPAE aims to strengthen its ties with the University, and to further advance its mission of promoting excellence and innovation in engineering education and research.

The ceremony was opened by outgoing UPAE Trustee and President Jose Jesus Joey Gomez, who celebrated the accomplishments of the association in 2023 and called for continuous support for the new Board roster and its leadership. In his keynote address, University of the Philippines President highlighted the significance of engineers to nation building and national industrialization and UPAE’s role in aiding the entire engineering community. The current UP COE Dean Maria Antonia Tanchuling graced the event as well with a situationer and teased the grand future plan of the College – the National institutes of Engineering.

Incoming UPAE President Aurelio L. Gomez gave a message of acceptance of UPAE’s continued commitment and support to the University, as well as his vision for the UPAE in his speech, while VP-External Michael J. Chanco concluded the program. The program was hosted by the College of Engineering and UPAE Information Officer Engr. Christian Arranz.
