Edwin R.G. Reyes came back home to the Philippines in June 2015 to take
on a role at BDO Unibank, Inc., after spending 31 years in the United States. His last assignment prior to joining BDO was at Deutsche Bank in New York, where he served as Managing Director and Global Head of the Depositary Receipts business. Mr. Reyes has more than 30 years of global experience in the banking industry. Prior to that, he worked at various other firms in the USA, all based in New York, including IBJ Whitehall, UBS, Price Waterhouse and Bankers Trust, in varying senior capacities, which included heading operations and finance functions, consulting, and global business management / leadership positions.

At BDO, Edwin runs the transaction banking business. As Executive Vice President and Group Head, he oversees the Transaction Banking Group (TBG), which offers cash management services to large corporations, financial institutions and SME clients, as well as remittance, payments, cash management and electronic banking services (including internet, phone, ATM and mobile channels) to individuals. Edwin and his TBG team are also leading the bank’s digital transformation initiatives and they continue to initiate, develop, launch new products, platforms and customized services that leverage new technologies and business models.

Mr. Reyes is currently a board member / non-executive director of One Network Bank. He also served on the board of the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce in New York, USA from 2011 to 2016. He was a recipient of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award (Wall Street New York, 2012), which honors top entrepreneurs, corporate executives and business professionals of Asian heritage for their contribution to the economy of the New York metropolitan area.

Edwin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from theUniversity of the Philippines, cum laude, and his Master’sDegree in Business Administration, major in Finance/Money and Financial Markets from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York, USA.
