Chots started his career as a Sales Engineer catering to the Mining Industry. He then worked as a GIS Consultant for an IT company while doing part-time teaching stint in his own review center. In 2009, he returned to his hometown in Sorsogon to try his luck in the politics but unfortunately lost the poll. After that failed bid in the 2010 elections, he returned to Manila to focus on Geographic Information System (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) attending seminars and trainings abroad. His company became the partner for a time of Pitney Bowes Software for location intelligence supplying trainings and services to military, mining, telecommunication, oil and gas and local government units. Aside from doing Geomatics, he also offers surveying services to individual and private corporations. He is one of the Real Estate Appraisers of two petroleum companies providing appraisal services as well as traffic study for their proposed sites. He is also a Real Estate Broker. Entered UP as a Civil Engineering student, he was a member of UP ACES. He became head of Epsilon Chi Fraternity and UP CREST during his undergraduate years. He is a member of the champion GE basketball team in the Engineering Cup. Currently, he is taking up MA in Urban and Region Planning in UP Diliman.
