Carmina is the CEO and Co-Founder of InvestEd.ph. InvestEd envisions a world where every young dreamer has no barriers to success. It’s a platform that gives students what they need to succeed- this includes money for school, skills coaching and emotional support. A globally awarded impact business, InvestEd has helped thousands of low-income Filipino youth increase their income and navigate success in a fast changing world.

Carmina is an education finance expert in the region, having worked more than a decade in the issue area both locally and globally. In 2019, she represented Asia in Qatar Government’s global debate on Student Loans. As a youth development champion, she has also trained more than 10,000 youth in topics of employment, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Carmina also has a solid track record in making social innovations and systemic change a reality, with a technology-focused approach. She pioneered projects & organizations in the issue areas of Women Empowerment, Education Access, and Good Governance.

Carmina has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines; three certificates from the Asian Institute of Management on Entrepreneurship, Startup Management and Data Strategy and a Social Entrepreneurship Certificate from INSEAD. Carmina also served as Sustainability Director for DARC Labs- the Philippines first non profit focusing on Artificial Intelligence for social progress. She is also part of the Credit Committee of the Truss Fund- a global fund that provides emergency services to social enterprises hit by COVID-19 pandemic.

A globally recognized young leader, Carmina has received several international accolades for her contributions to society. She was named as a Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 Honoree for Finance & Venture Capital in 2021 and South Asia and Oceanian laureate in the 2019 Cartier Women’s Initiative awards. Among her other recognitions are National Achievement in Entrepreneurship Award, The Outstanding Women in Nation’s Service Award, Top 120 Global Innovator, and Obama Foundation Asia Pacific Leader.
