UPAE Inducts New Set of Officers and Board of Trustees (2023)

The University of the Philippines (UP) College of Engineering Alumni Association (UPAE) held its Induction Ceremony for the new set of Officers and Board of Trustees on February 20, 2023, at the UP Board Room in Quezon Hall, UP Diliman.

The ceremony was opened by outgoing UPAE Trustee and President Patrick Anthony Pascual, celebrated the accomplishments of the association in 2022. In his keynote address, UP Diliman Chancellor Fidel Nemenzo highlighted the importance of the UPAE, which boasts the largest number of alumni in the University. The current UP COE Dean Maria Antonia Tanchuling graced the event with a short message on UPAE’s significant contributions to the College.

The formal induction followed, led by Chancellor Nemenzo. The newly inducted officers and trustees of the UPAE are as follows:

Incoming UPAE President Jose Joey Jesus R. Gomez reiterated UPAE’s commitment and support to the University, as well as his vision for the UPAE in his speech, while VP-External Ramon Alberto Nolido concluded the program. The program was hosted by the College of Engineering and UPAE Information Officer Engr. Christian Arranz.

Also present at the event are UP ERDFI President Rafael Chicho Mantaring and Executive Director Alfonso Tito Aliga Jr., several Alumni organization presidents, UP Vice President for Development Dr. Ferdinand Pecson, Council of Advisers member Levy Espiritu, UP Aggregates President Jed Alimanza, and UP MMMAA President Art Disini.

The induction ceremony marked a significant milestone for the UPAE, as it moves forward with a renewed commitment to serve the UP College of Engineering and its alumni. The UPAE aims to strengthen its ties with the University, and to further advance its mission of promoting excellence and innovation in engineering education and research.
