Engr. Adelson N. Chua is an Assistant Professor at the UP Electrical and Electronics Engineering (UP EEE) Institute and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) while also serving as a graduate student instructor at the prestigious university.

Engr. Chua has been awarded in several research projects that he was involved in, including the UP EEE Alumni Association Inc. 2012 President’s Medals for Outstanding Undergraduate research entitled β€œAn Aggressive Power Optimization of the ARM9-based core using RAZOR”, the Best Academe Paper in the 2013 Analog Devices (Philippines) Technical Symposium for the project β€œVerification of the Razorized ARM9 Core through ARM9TDM Co-processing”, and as 1st place in the 2013 UPEEEI Postgraduate Poster Competition. Adelson also has a published journal article in IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, the top journal for microelectronics research, and seven other published papers in several international conferences in the field of microelectronics research.

He has also served as a reviewer of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits and as a research staff to several DOST-funded projects. Aside from teaching at the UP EEEI, he has also taught HDL-based design, Full Custom Digital design, RTL modeling, synthesis of digital circuits, and RTL to GDS11 backend design in the Philippine Institute for Integrated Circuits (PIIC).

Asst. Prof. Chua is also a member of the Microelectronics and Microprocessors Laboratory in his home institute, a graduate student researcher at the Berkeley Wireless Research Center (BWRC), a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Circuits and Systems Society (IEEE CAS), Solid-State Circuits Society (IEEE SSCS), and the IEEE Young Professionals.

Asst. Prof Chua finished his MS degree in Electrical Engineering and BS degree (Cum Laude) in Computer Engineering at the UP College of Engineering.
