Engr. Silvino Alcabasa, Jr. Sworn In As UPAE’s 52nd President

Last July 2nd, at the board room of the National Engineering Center in UP Dilman, UPAE’s 52nd President was inducted into office. Engr. Silvino Alcabasa, Jr. officially assumed leadership of UPAE’s 15-man Board of Trustees for 2018.

When asked about his vision for UPAE, Engr. Alcabasa replied, “I am proud to say that the UPAE has been playing a significant role on why the college has continued to produce competent engineers, embodied with professionalism and desire for public service. We need continuous efforts to unify our alumni, muster our resources, and organize events so that we can always give the best support to the college. Let us continue to provide avenues for sharing of engineer studies and developments with alumni, business and technical communities, as well as the general public.”

Engr. Alcabasa was Vice President Internal for 2017, concurrently serving as Chairman of the 2017 Homecoming Committee.

Aside from Engr. Alcabasa, this year’s elected officers include:

A trustee serves for a term of 2 years. Trustees then elect among themselves officers who serve for a term of one year. Seven of the 15 trustees will be elected later this year during the 2018 Homecoming to serve for the years 2019 and 2020.
